The country was hit by a cyber attack following the controversial remarks of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma. Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch has made a big statement in this regard. Police say hackers from Indonesia and Malaysia have appealed to other hackers around the world to come together after the controversy escalated. This was followed by a cyber attack against India. More than 2,000 websites were hacked by this group of hackers.
The hacked website includes several Indian government websites along with private Indian websites. The hackers also posted Nupur Sharma’s house and personal details online. The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch has also written a letter to the governments of Malaysia and Indonesia in this regard. It is noteworthy that Islamic countries objected to Nupur Sharma’s statement. The BJP then suspended him from the party.
