A businessman living in Demol village of Petlad taluka tried to commit suicide due to the torture of usurers. However, he was saved by taking his family including his son for treatment on time. In this regard, the businessman filed a complaint against three usurers and the police registered a case and conducted further investigation.

Seven to eight lakhs were taken
Nirmalkumar Jayeshbhai Patel living in Chachar Chowk, Demoll earns his living by running a normal home industry. They make food products such as rice papdi, sabudana chakri etc. in home industry and sell them in foreign and local market. However, four months ago, he was in need of money and asked Tushar Ravji Bhoi, who lives in Bhoivas of the village, for Rs. three lakh for a period of one week. Hence, they along with Sanjay Nagji Barot (Rest. Pawanchakki, Nadiad) raised Rs. Three lakhs were taken by Nirmal Kumar. No interest rate has been fixed at this time. However, after fifteen days both Tushar and Sanjay Barot reached Nirmal’s factory and took Rs.15 thousand as interest of Rs.three lakhs for fifteen days. Thus, time and time again, they demanded the amount on interest and took around Rs.7 to eight lakhs. Some amount was also deposited online in the accounts of Tushar Bhoi and Sanjay Nagji Barot. A total of Rs.1,28,700 was transferred to the accounts of both.

A blank check was signed
Meanwhile, before 6th July, 22 Tushar Ravji Bhoi and Sanjay Nagji Barot’s money was coming due, both of them were threatening face to face, on phone to give money or give interest. Apart from this, they also threatened to kill him if he did not give the money. These usurers got a SBI Bank check of Home Industry from Nirmal and another check signed on a blank check of the Central Bank of India of his wife Priyabehn Nirmalkumar Patel. Similarly, Sanjay, through his friend Chirag, took a loan of Rs.2.28 lakh from Nirmalkumar’s father’s bank. The loan money was also taken by them. The amount which these two had taken from Nirmal on interest.

He was saved by timely treatment
Meanwhile, on July 18, 22, Tushar called and called on the canal of Demole village. Where Tusshar and Sanjay got into the car and threatened to throw it into the canal by swearing. Later, Ravji called Bhoi from Nirmal’s phone and asked him to give thirteen lakhs. However, Nirmalkumar took him along with his wife to a mobile shop in Nadiad, threatening to get a mobile worth Rs.1.40 lakh, saying that he did not have the money. Where he tried to get a loan. But the loan did not fall. So they returned empty handed. Tushar and Sanjay continued to torture despite paying more interest than the principal amount of Rs.3 lakh. Hence, Kantali typed a suicide note in the mobile and sent it to his wife, parents and friend Akshat Patel. Later, he hanged himself with a knife on an iron angle in the factory. However, the family rushed to the factory and took Nirmalkumar to the hospital immediately. Where he was saved by timely treatment. In this regard, the Mehlao police have registered a case against Sanjay Nagji Barot (res. Pawanchakki Road, Nadiad), Tushar Ravji Bhoi (res. Bhoivas, Demoll) and Chirag and are conducting further investigation.
