Students during Guleri Jayanti celebrations at Government Senior Secondary School, Ghaini.

Guleri Jayanti celebrations were organized under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. During this, a speech and essay writing competition was organized on the topic ‘Guleri’s contribution to Hindi literature’. 30 children from 6 schools participated in the competition. In the junior category, Aarushi of RPS Ghaini secured first position in the speech. While Amit Verma of the same school stood second and Payal of RPS Baldenya stood third.

On Saturday, Guleri Jayanti celebrations were organized at Government Senior Secondary School, Ghaini by the Department of Language and Culture, District Shimla. Panchayat head Girdhari Lal Verma and senior litterateur Gupteshwar Nath Upadhyay attended the program as chief guest. During this, more than 15 students recited Guleri and Swachit poems.

During this, in the speech competition, Rohan and Yogita of Government Senior Secondary School, Ghaini jointly got first, Aditi of RPS Ghaini got second and Tanmay Chauhan of same school got third position.

In the essay writing at the primary level, Divyansh of Government Primary School, Ghaini got first, Rudransh got second and Hemakshi of RPS Baldenya got third place. In the junior category, Tamannaah, Akshit, Yetakshi secured first, second and third position respectively. In the senior category, Tamannaah of Government Senior Secondary School, Ghaini stood first, Yoshita second and Tanmay Chauhan of RPS Ghaini stood third. District Language Officer Shimla Anil Harta, Principal Rajesh Sharma, Senior Citizen Lekhraj Kashyap, Folk Singer Pravesh Nihalta, Vice Principal Prem Raj Sharma, Archana Sharma etc. were present on this occasion.
