Emergency landing of a SpiceJet aircraft in Mumbai, seven incidents in 17 days

Mumbai: SpiceJet’s Kandla-Mumbai flight made an emergency landing in Mumbai after a cracked windshield at an altitude of 23,000 feet. The outside of the windshield broke at an altitude of 23,000 feet, causing the plane to land in Mumbai immediately, DGCA officials told the agency. “Fortunately, no casualties were reported and a safe landing was made in Mumbai,” SpiceJet said in a statement.

This is the seventh incident of technical defect in the last 17 days. Earlier on Tuesday, a SpiceJet flight had to land in Karachi. In addition to the two incidents that took place on the same day, an investigation has been launched into five other incidents, the DGCA said.
