Ease of living is getting easier in the cities of the state
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said in the Urban Planning Conclave that ease of living is becoming easier in the cities of the state. On the other hand, people are being harassed by increasing traffic in cities, from drinking water and parking facilities. People have to face problems due to waterlogging and large potholes on the roads in normal monsoon rains. Road Building Minister Purnesh Modi himself has created a special app for pothole complaints. Many people from cities are complaining about this app. The government itself says that we are smart but road construction minister Purnesh Modi has prepared an application to fill potholes.

6 cities of the state have been selected as smart cities by the Centre
In the Urban Planning Conclave, the Chief Minister said that 6 cities including Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Dahod have been selected to be developed as smart cities by the central government. In which Ahmedabad and Vadodara are in the top-10 in terms of ease of living and municipal corporation. On the other side of his statement, the fact is that, in the early rains of the current year, there are many complaints in Ahmedabad from drinking water and rainwater to roads. There are still two months of monsoon left. At that time, only one to two inches of rain had entered people’s houses and shops in the city. The cars in the parking lot were submerged due to water inundation in people’s societies. How can ease of living be easy for people in the city even after loss of millions of crores?
Gujarat provided the model of land use planning
The Chief Minister said that Gujarat has provided a model of land use planning in all urban areas by coordinating town planning and urban development with public participation. TP by Govt. 5 percent of the land allotted in the scheme is earmarked for housing for socially and educationally backward class citizens. CEO of NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant emphasized on the transit oriented development of cities i.e. maximizing the use of public transport along with developing amenities like civic purpose cycling and walkways.
Planning to create a livable city in a scientific manner of urban development
He said to make a livable city by planning the scientific style of urban development by increasing the floor space index (FSI) for the best urban development. Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar expressed optimism that Gujarat will lead the entire country in urban development. He also said that birthdays of 7 thousand villages were celebrated in Gujarat in 3 months as part of the expressed name of celebrating birthdays of villages as part of Azadi Ka Amrit festival.
