Lumpy virus has wreaked havoc in several districts of the state including Jamnagar. Then Animal Husbandry Minister Raghavji Patel reviewed the Lumpy Virus situation in Jamnagar. Minister Raghavji Patel visited Ma Gaudarshan Gaushala at Dared village of Jamnagar and Vachchraj Gaushala at Vibhapar village to ensure proper care of Lumpy virus affected cattle.
Animal Husbandry Minister made several suggestions
During this visit, the Minister made suggestions to the cowshed owners as well as the animal husbandry department to properly clean the cattle habitat, spray drugs and isolate the animals affected by Lumpy virus so that other animals do not get infected. Besides, in Gaudhan of Jamnagar district, vaccination work, facilities provided through animal ambulance, food given to animals, cleanliness in cowsheds, without spraying of medicines were inspected.
Urged to catch stray cattle
In Jamnagar, Animal Husbandry Minister Raghavji Patel held a meeting with high officials and office bearers in the municipality to review the disease situation. In this meeting, the officials were urged to catch the uninherited and lame cattle roaming the city roads and keep them in cattle sheds.
Seven such ambulances are functioning in the city
The minister said that the state government is continuously active and serious in controlling the epidemic. An ambulance with a special animal hospital has been sent to the area for these animals. Seven such ambulances have been made operational in the city. Besides, the owners of the animals of the owners who are roaming in public have also been given a stern warning and instructed to take action. Apart from this, adequate quantity of vaccine has also been sent for vaccination of animals. Collectors and officials have also been instructed to allocate suitable land for proper disposal of dead animals.
