India scored 416 runs in the first innings in reply to which the English team could only score 284 runs and India got a strong lead in the first innings. Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who hit a century in the first innings on the fourth day of play, scored a half-century. Cheteshwar Pujara completed his half century on the third day. Pante scored 57 off 86 balls. Cheteshwar Pujara and Pant took India’s score to 125/3 on the fourth day.
