Mumbai Rain! Corporation to take help of BEST and ST for Mumbaigara trapped in rains, BMC commissioner orders officials

Mumbai: CM Eknath Shinde has ordered the Mumbai Municipal Corporation to make alternative transport arrangements for the pedestrians stranded due to rains in Mumbai for the past few days. After which, in a meeting on Thursday, Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal has ordered the officials to prepare SOP together with BEST and ST.
BEST is all set to run an additional 400 buses for the convenience of Mumbaikars, while ST is planning to run an additional 11 buses. The municipal commissioner has ordered to arrange a primary clinic and essential help for travelers in case the local train, which is the lifeline of Mumbai, is stopped due to heavy rains. In case of disruption of local train service, alternative facility of special bus will be made available for the passengers to reach their destination.
BJP MLA from Mulund, Mihir Kotecha, met the municipal commissioner and recommended addressing pothole complaints within 48 hours. Besides this, Deputy Chief Minister of the state Devendra Fadnavis also ordered the municipality to pay special attention to the safety of the residents of the dilapidated buildings and arrange temporary accommodation for them.
