Satyadev Sharma, deputy director of ATR, said that from the evening of June 30, the safari in the core area has been closed. Which will remain closed till 30 September. After which the safari of the core area will be started again for tourists from October 1. However, during this time the buffer area safari will continue as before.

Tiger Reserve was created in 2009

Achanakmar Sanctuary was established in 1975. In 2007 it was declared a biosphere and in 2009 Achanakmar Sanctuary was declared as a Tiger Reserve area due to the increasing number of tigers. Achanakmar Tiger Reserve is counted among 39 tiger reserves of the country. There are a large number of wild animals including tiger, leopard, gaur, flying squirrel, wild boar, bison, deer, bear, hyena, jackal, four-horned antelope, chinkara. Not only this, the Achanakmar Tiger Reserve is spread over an area of ​​553.286 square kilometers on the Maikal mountain range. where biodiversity is found. More than 200 different species of birds are also found here.
