- A flurry of power thieves in the district following the raiding operation of the power company
During the electricity checking started by Jamnagar electricity office, checking has been carried out today in the area outside Kalavad Naka as well as in Masitiya and Kansumra. Electricity theft of more than 20 lakhs has been detected from Dhrol, Jodia and Kalavad yesterday. Electricity theft of 1.38 crores from Halar Panthak has been prevented by the power company in the last five days.
Today 31 squads carried out power checking procedure
During the checking started by the local PGVCL office of Jamnagar today, on the fifth day, electricity is being checked in the Nagarseem under City-2 division and Shapar and Jamnagar rural sub-divisions in Jamnagar circle. Kalavad Naka outer area of the city and Masitia and Kansumra villages from this morning. Thirty one teams headed by the officials of the power company have rushed for checking. 22 jawans of local police, 12 SRPmen, 8x armymen have been kept for their security.
20 lakhs power theft from Dhrol-Jodia Panthak was swift yesterday
During the checking carried out by thirty-four teams in Kalavad, Dhrol and Jodia yesterday, 483 electricity connections were checked out of which 63 connections were found to be faulty and their holders were given supplementary bills of Rs.20.65 lakh.
