- Not a single trader is ready to keep last year’s prices unchanged on Janmashtami
As soon as Janmashtami comes, the demand for farsan, oil will increase and due to this, the price will also increase. However, the traders are divided on the issue of price increase. Small traders are ready to keep the prices unchanged or lower, so that more customers come. While the big traders are in a profit making mood and Rs. Has shown readiness to increase the price up to 20. However, the collector recently called a meeting on the issue of price hike. In which only two traders were present.
Traders themselves are disappointed on the price fixing issue. Some traders alleged that the meeting called on the issue of price fixing was not informed. Earlier, the price of Farsan in Janmashtami was Rs.200. While at this time the price of Farsan is Rs.240 to Rs.300 per kg. However, no trader is yet ready to keep the same price as last season. On the issue of keeping the price of the previous season, the traders expressed their opposition that last time the price of palm oil was Rs.1000.
While at this time the price of oil has reached close to Rs.2000. Hence, if the last season’s price is kept, there will be a loss in profit. It is also being discussed in the traders that there was a meeting of the traders recently. In which it was suggested that the increase in oil prices should be increased by Rs.20 per farsan due to the festival, but it has not yet been implemented. At that time, everyone is waiting for a meeting to see if there is any mechanism for price fixing.
