CANACONA: Fishermen from Talpona and its surrounding areas in Canacona want the government to strictly implement the fishing ban for the remaining period. The annual fishing ban comes into force from June 1 and continues till July 31.
The fishermen have urged the government to crack down on trawlers as well as fishing vessels from other states entering Goan waters, in violation of the ban.
