Terrorists entered the Punjab Civil Secretariat building at around 7 pm today. Here the lives of the staff and ministers are in danger. In fact, a mock drill was conducted by Chandigarh Police on Wednesday in this most important and sensitive building of Punjab in Chandigarh. During this, such situations were created as if terrorists had actually entered the secretariat and had to kill them and protect the ministers and staff. Chandigarh SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal has confirmed this mock drill.
According to the information, the bomb disposal squad of Chandigarh Police, commandos of Operation Cell, Reserve Force, Dog Squad and other units are involved in this mock drill. On the other hand, fire brigade vehicles also reached the spot. These include vehicles like hydraulic extension ladders, fire tenders.
On the late night of 9 May, there was an attack on the Punjab Intelligence Headquarters building in Mohali.
The entire Chandigarh Police was put on alert regarding this terrorist attack. This information was flashed on PCR. Such action has been taken to put UT policemen on alert mode. The mock drill continued till late evening. A similar drill was conducted on Tuesday as well. At the same time, there is information about running the drill on Thursday as well.
Drill was also done in RBI building including Burail Jail
Recently, Chandigarh Police had conducted similar mock drills at RBI Building, Sector 17 and Burail Jail. At the same time, mock drill has also been done at Nexus Elante Mall. The terror attacks in Punjab in the past, especially the Ludhiana Court Blast, the RPG attack on the Punjab Intelligence Headquarters building in Mohali, the RDX found outside the Burail Jail, have increased the risk.
On April 23, RDX was found near the wall of Chandigarh’s Burail Jail. It was defused by a squad of NSG commandos.
