Crocodiles are found in nearby Vatrak river
It has been reported by the locals that this incident has happened for the second time in the area, although the Forest Department is currently investigating the incident.

Accidental deaths of leopards and other wild animals have been observed during the night on highways, usually in the forest area of Aravalli and Sabarkantha districts. Efforts were also made by wildlife lovers and forest department to prevent such accidents. But another incident of a crocodile losing its life in an accident has come to light near Baid. A crocodile died after being hit by an unknown truck-like heavy vehicle near Ambaliyara on Baid to Dehgam State Highway.

During the night time, the crocodile had come out for a stroll in the Vatrak river area and reached the state highway. In the darkness of the night, the crocodile was crushed by an unknown truck-like heavy vehicle. The driver of the vehicle also ran away after hitting the crocodile. As soon as the local people came to know about this, they immediately informed the local police and forest department. A team of forest department reached the spot. Crocodiles are seen in check dam area near Mahadev temple near Dabha village.
The forest department has sent the crocodile’s dead body for post-mortem and started the investigation process. The forest department has conducted a search for the absconding truck, making a preliminary guess that the heavy vehicle was a truck due to the death in the accident. However, an official of Baid Forest Department told the media that at present the forest department has carried out the preliminary investigation process including the panchnama of the place.
