Instant messaging platform WhatsApp banned millions of Indian accounts in May. The app informs about this by releasing reports every month under the new IT rules. In a May report, WhatsApp said it had blocked more than 1.9 million Indian accounts on its platform. These accounts have been banned for violating the Platform Guidelines. The new report includes data from 1 May 2022 to 31 May 2022.

What is the reason for WhatsApp?

A spokesperson for WhatsApp said in the case that ‘as per IT rules 2021, we have released the latest report for May 2022. This User Safety Report includes details of user complaints and actions taken against them. At the same time, WhatsApp itself has taken a number of steps to curb the misuse of the platform. Last month, the company blocked more than 1.9 million WhatsApp accounts.

This is not the first time WhatsApp has banned accounts. The company issues a monthly user safety report detailing the steps taken to prevent misuse of the platform.

Do you do this too?

WhatsApp has already made it clear that users who do not comply with the company’s policies and guidelines are restricted to its platform. This app restricts the accounts of users who forward false information, fake news or unverified messages.

The company is also taking several other steps to prevent such things. Messaging platforms also mark messages that have been forwarded multiple times. Now you will get the label of Multiple Times Forward with such message on the app.

Apart from this WhatsApp is also trying to prevent such things through tools and resources. According to recent reports, users will soon get a new feature on WhatsApp, with which they can request removal of the ban from their accounts. If the user’s account is accidentally blocked, his account will be restarted.
