Before the general board meeting in Mehsana Municipality on Friday, a group of women from Cheharnagar, who had come to the city, created a ruckus over the issue of such an underground drain in the municipality. After conducting an investigation into this matter, the shocking fact that more than 80 percent of the underground sewer connections in Chehar town is illegal has come to light.
Only 18 underground sewer connections in the society
Sanjay Brahmabhat, chairman of Mehsana Municipality’s Underground Sewerage Scheme Committee and Nagar Sevak, said that more than 100 families live in this society and their residential buildings are located there. All kinds of facilities are provided by the municipality in this society. However, preliminary investigation has revealed that only 18 underground sewer connections are legal in this society.
A notice will be given after the survey regarding the ghost connection
After a survey by the municipality regarding ghost underground sewer connections in Chehar Nagar and its surrounding areas, it was found that those taking director connections without the permission of the municipality will face notice. When the shocking fact of illegal connection came to light, the residents of the society decided to stop the underground sewerage connection of their houses.
