The ICC has announced the Future Tour Program (FTP) of men’s cricket from 2023 to 2027. A total of 777 international matches will be played during this period. In which 173 Tests, 281 ODIs and 323 T20 International matches are to be played. This circle includes the next two cycles of the ICC Men’s World Test Championship, some ICC events and some bilateral as well as triangular series,

The ICC FTP program has also announced the Indian cricket team’s future tour schedule. In which India will play the Border-Gavaskar Test series against the Australian cricket team twice in five years. The most important thing is that in the Border-Gavaskar Test series, the team of India and Australia will play a series of 5 Test matches between themselves. This will be the first time in 30 years that the Indian team will play a 5-match series in the Border Gavaskar Test series. The Indian team last played a five test match series against Australia in the year 1992. In the year 2023-25, the Indian team will go to Australia and play 5 Test matches, while the Australian team will come to India in 2025-27.

Australia great Ricky Ponting gave his opinion on making the Border-Gavaskar Trophy a series of 5 Test matches and said that the decision is very important. He expressed his opinion on ICC channel and said, ‘I think the viewers of Australia and India and probably cricket lovers around the world want to see as many Test matches between India and Australia as possible. So I think it is a great initiative and more importantly all the players will enjoy it.
India-England 5 match Test series
Also, in the current cycle of the WTC, like the Ashes Test series, the Test series between England and India will be a 5-match Test. India, England and Australia are going to play the most Test matches during the Future Tour program from 2023 to 2027. Meanwhile, England will play 22, Australia 21 and India 20 Test matches.
T20-ODI World Cup and Champions Trophy
Along with this, West Indies and USA are going to host the 2024 T20 World Cup together. Apart from this, the Pakistan team will host the Champions Trophy in 2025. India and Sri Lanka will jointly host the 2026 T20 World Cup in 2026 under the Future Tour programme. While South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will host the ODI Cricket World Cup in 2027.
