- Two brothers were detained from Kolhapur
A major action has been taken by the National Investigation Team (NIA) after receiving information about the ISIS module of terrorists operating in major states and cities of the country. Suspects are being taken into custody by conducting raids in several states. The NIA also conducted raids in Maharashtra in this case. The houses and other locations of the 13 suspects are being searched by various NIA teams in six states of the country.
It also includes Kolhapur and Nanded districts of Maharashtra. The action was taken by the NIA in Hupari of Hatkanangale taluka in Kolhapur district. From here Irshad Shaukat Sheikh and his brother Bhau Altab Sheikh were captured. Irshad Labaik works as the Chairman of Imdad Foundation. The NIA caught him sleeping in a surprise raid at dawn on Sunday. Some documents have also been seized, sources said.
The NIA team takes the two suspects saying they will take them for ten minutes. No information has been given to the local police in this matter either. The matter is being kept confidential as it is very sensitive, NIA sources said.
