In Himmatnagar, due to the potholes on the roads and bridges, there are traffic jams and sometimes the vehicles overturn. Due to which the vehicle drivers may suffer financial and physical loss.
To solve the traffic problem in Himatnagar city, Motipura to Himatnagar – Idar bypass four lane road has been constructed. So the problem has been facilitated but the problem has not been removed. So on this bypass road there is a 140 meter long bridge over the Hatmati river. Compared to the four lane road. The bridge is narrow. Due to which, if two heavy vehicles come in front of each other, one vehicle has to be stopped and the other vehicle has to pass. In monsoon, when the rain water fills the bridge, big pits have fallen and the rods have also come out.
One has to walk on this bridge at the risk of life. Farmers carrying vehicles passing through this bridge are suffering financial and physical loss every day. Regarding this, Ramanbhai Patel, a farmer of Katwad, said that this bridge is narrow so it cannot be crossed on foot, if a heavy vehicle passes, there will be a traffic jam and even in the ongoing rain, there will be a traffic jam. Due to the rain, huge potholes have formed on the bridge. Traffic problem is more.
Regarding this, GSRDC’s SE RK Patel said in a telephonic conversation that the bridge has collapsed. After the rain stops, the potholes are filled. So the problem of narrow bridge will be solved in the next day. So at present the potholes on the bridge are filled, but when it rains, the stones come out of the filled pothole and the problem of the pothole remains. The citizens are demanding a permanent solution to the problem. So the potholes on this four lane road are huge potholes. Due to which the vehicle drivers have to suffer and also suffer losses.
The work of conversion of Ahmedabad-Udepur National Four Lane passing through Motipura of Himmatnagar city into six lane is going on. So today the motorists have to suffer due to huge potholes on the highway. So, two rickshaws full of sugarcane and sweets overturned in the pothole of the cooperative Jin Char road and two drivers got injured.
