- A new system will be adopted to prevent inundation of rainwater in low-lying areas
- Rainwater management costs will be reduced and the water level in the soil will increase
- Emphasis was placed on rain water recharge system and percolating well system
Vadodara Corporation has implemented a percolating well system to prevent inundation of rainwater in the low-lying areas and to reduce the cost of handling rainwater and increase the water level in the soil.
Under the instructions and guidance of the state government, emphasis is being laid towards rain water recharge system and percolating well system by Vadodara Corporation. Under which the Vadodara Corporation undertook the operation of the percolating well system to prevent waterlogging in the low-lying areas of the city. Out of which the system has failed in some places and the system has succeeded in some places. It costs from one and a half to seven lakhs to operate this system. Due to which the rainwater gets directly into the ground and the cost of making rain gutters is reduced.
If the corporation is successful in this direction, percolating well system will be operational every two kilometers in 40 km area of rain-fed area. It is to be noted that, in this system, the aquifer i.e. the level of absorption of water in the soil has an important place. Currently, a survey is going on by the Vadodara Corporation regarding this system to stop the inundation of rainwater in the low-lying areas.
