A disappointing performance from the top order led to a crushing seven-wicket defeat for the Indian women’s cricket team in the third and deciding T20I series against England. England won the three-match series 2-1 with this. England won the first match by nine wickets. India won the second match by eight wickets to level the series but the Indian team could not maintain the rhythm and form in the deciding match. After being invited to bat first, India could score 122 runs for eight wickets. England achieved victory by scoring 126 runs for three wickets in 18.2 overs.

India lost wickets in the powerplay itself. With opener Shefali Verma (5), Mandhana (9) and skipper Harmanpreet (5) out, India lost five wickets by the score of 35 runs. England’s strong batting

From England, Sophie Ecclestone lost three wickets for 25 runs and Sara Glenn lost two wickets for 11 runs. Against an easy target, Sophia Dunkley’s 49 off 44 balls and Danny White’s 22 scored 70 runs for the first wicket and laid the foundation for victory for England. Ellis Capsey scored an unbeaten 38 to ensure the team’s series victory.
