- National Games 2022 will start from 20th September
- A sports carnival will be held on Canal Road in the city
- Various cultural programs will be held for three days
A three-day sports carnival will be held in Surat from the 18th to the start of the National Games on September 20. A colorful program will be held on the Vesu Canal Corridor for three days. Cultural events including food festival, music festival, garba, cycle and skating rally have been organized for three days. Mayor Hemali Bodhawala and Mu Commissioner Banchanidhi Pani informed about the sports carnival.
A sports carnival has been organized from Canal Pathway, Atomawat Dwar to VIP Junction to create awareness among people about the National Games. The sports carnival will begin on Sunday morning. On the first day, rustic sports festival, including U Turn, has been organized on the canal path way. A bicycle and skating rally will be held on Monday morning, the 19th. On Tuesday morning, National Games themed parade has been organized.
A colorful program will be held in the evening during these three days. In which, apart from garba, a food festival has been organized every day. More than 200 food stalls will be set up at the sports carnival venue. The food festival will run from 18th September to 5th November which will be the longest food festival in Surat.
