Deepti Sharma ran out Charlotte Dean at the non-striker end to give India victory in the third ODI. The non-striker left the crease for a walk before the ball was delivered and Deepti blew the bells and was dismissed.

Full use of the new rules

The India-England third ODI ended with spinner Deepti Sharma taking full advantage of the new rules. The all-rounder ran out Charlotte Dean at the non-striker’s end to give India a 16-run win. The run out meant that India beat England and gave Jhulan Goswami a triumphant farewell.

Mankading now run-out as per new rules

Running out the batter at the non-striker’s end was called mankding. As per the new rules, it is now called a run-out and Deepti took the right decision to run out the batter who was trying to take unfair advantage.

Run-out turning point

Dean and Freya Davis added 35 runs for the 10th wicket to pose a major threat to India’s hopes of a whitewash of the hosts. Deepti Sharma did the trick as England cruised to victory. Run out the non-striker gave India success.

England whitewashed the series 3-0

With this win, India whitewashed England 3-0 in the series. After the win, the players congratulated the retiring Jhulan Goswami and carried her on their shoulders. Jhulan played an important role in the win and had a brilliant spell of 10-3-30-2. She dismissed Kate Cross for 10 in the final over of her spell.
