Farid Ahmad-Asif Ali fined by ICC for sending off

The match between Afghanistan and Pakistan in the Super-4 stage of the Asia Cup turned tense and during the match, Afghan bowler Farid Ahmed and Pakistani batsman Asif Ali got into a brawl with each other. Asif then punched Farid and provoked him to hit the bat. Both players became overly aggressive and the ICC fined both of them 25-25 match fees.

Asif violated Rule 2.6 of the Code of Conduct

The ICC said Asif violated Rule 2.6 of the Code of Conduct which deals with using obscene, offensive or insulting gestures during international matches. Fareed has breached the rules by making inappropriate physical contact with a player, support staff, umpire, match referee or any other person during a match.
