Four arrested, including a woman, in honeytrap case in Adajan

A few days ago in Adajan area, after asking a driver for a lift, he was taken hostage and taken to a flat by showing a paddle. Surat crime branch has caught the gang who took photos with the woman and falsely identified them as police and threatened to make the photo viral.

The Police Commissioner and senior officials have instructed the Surat Crime Branch to nab the extortion gangs who lured people into honeytraps in Surat city. Based on this fact, Surat Crime Branch patrolled and started investigation. Meanwhile, the DCB, on the basis of information, has arrested the accused involved in the honeytrap crime registered with the Adajan police and put them behind bars. Police arrested Lalshivraj Lakhdhirbhai, a diamond merchant residing in Sai Point near Dindoli Char Road, Alpeshkumar Jagdishbhai Patel, a sand-gravel merchant residing in Katargam Vasantji Park, Lalit Khimji Chauhan residing in Amroli Star Palace and Rukiaben alias Fatima alias Reena Abbas Vora residing in Salabatpura, Vrindavan Apartments.

On further questioning by the DCB, the gang said that a few days ago they asked a driver for a lift within the limits of Adajan Police Station. Adajan was shown a paddle and taken to a flat in a building near Madhuvan Circle. Two other men and women accompanying him were already present in the flat. Among them, one of the youth identified himself as the police and said, “You stand between these two women, otherwise the driver was scared, threatening to kill you with a knife.” As the driver stood between the two women, the gang took pictures of him.

Then, threatening to make the photos viral, Rs. 20 lakhs, but as the driver did not have the money, he was threatened to be taken to the police station. In order not to have a bad name in his society and relatives, the driver asked an acquaintance to pay Rs. 5 lakh was ordered and given to the accused. After that they left Moti in the car and ran away. Then the driver lodged a complaint at the Adajan police station.
