  • Who is responsible for this question in other districts of the state?: High Court
  • 301 cases reported in last 19 days and 5345 cases in 13 months: Petitioner
  • Cattle attack death Rs. 1 lakh, give Rs.50,000 to the injured: GHAA

The Gujarat High Court has slammed the state government on the issue of stray cattle on the road and said that the plan given to solve this problem is only on paper. If you implement it, this problem will be solved. This matter will be implemented till the next hearing, otherwise we will hold the District Collector responsible. Why is there delay in resolving this issue? To solve this problem, the government should provide a separate toll free number, 100 number is the toll free number used to complain in general.

The High Court has questioned the government that why the government has not yet taken appropriate steps to build cowsheds? Who is responsible for the issue of stray cattle in the district? Whose are these stray cattle? Has the government discussed with the Cattle Owners Association or given any direction to them? All the districts of the state, including Ahmedabad, have been properly tried to solve this question, right? The High Court has ordered that the government should file an affidavit in this regard and the petitioner should also file a reply. Cities which have Cattle Nuisance Control Department (CNCD) should work 24 hours till next hearing. The order regarding stray cattle will be applicable to the entire state.

The High Court also challenged the petitioner that where are the NGOs working for the animals and the gaushala owners? Whatever they do, they should also be made a party. The petitioner submitted that the cattle owners run the cattle on the road with sticks, leading to accidents. The Commissioner of Police issues a notification to stop this activity. According to the 108 reported cases of stray cattle attacks or accidents, 301 cases have occurred in the last 19 days and 5345 cases in 13 months.

Recovery of payment to victims from Manpa and cattle owners: GHAA

The presentation of Gujarat High Court Advocates Association was that the torture of stray cattle is increasing every day. A pregnant woman was attacked by stray cattle in Vadodara on Wednesday, resulting in the death of the unborn child. The government has passed a bill to control the cruelty of stray cattle. After the rally against the operation of catching stray cattle, the Chief Minister said that we will not pass this bill.

The GHAA has suggested that a compensation of Rs. 1 lakh, if he stays in the hospital for three days after being injured, Rs. 50,000 and the injured Rs. 25,000 should be paid. This amount will be paid by the cattle owners and the municipality. Municipalities and municipalities are failing to fulfill their responsibilities. Staff are attacked while going to catch cattle. A terrifying atmosphere is created at this time. These people come under the definition of dangerous person, take action against them as per law and register an offense under section of Sadosh Manslaughter. Cattle owners shirk responsibility for their cattle.
