The Cricket Association of Bengal is planning to name the stand at the Eden Gardens after India’s legendary bowler Jhulan Goswami. The 39-year-old Jhulan, who hails from Chakda in West Bengal, bid farewell to cricket with the third and final ODI against England on Saturday.

Eden Gardens Stand Named ‘Zhulan’!

CAB president Avishek Dalmia said, “We are planning to name the stand at Eden Gardens as Jhulan. He is a special cricketer and his name is enshrined in legends. We will approach the army for necessary permissions. We are also organizing a special felicitation ceremony for him on the annual day.

Trying to give equal importance to women’s cricket

Avishek Dalmia further said, ‘At CAB we give equal importance to women’s cricket. She may be saying goodbye to international cricket but we want her to play in women’s IPL.
