Met Medical College located in the premises of LG Hospital in Maninagar area of Ahmedabad will now be known as ‘Narendra Modi Medical College’. The proposal by AMC to rename the Medical College located in LG Hospital Campus as Narendra Modi Medical College has been approved in the Standing Committee. A proposal to rename the medical college as Prime Minister Narendra Midi Medical College was approved in the Met meeting held on Wednesday by Mayor Kirit Parmar and then an urgent proposal for this purpose was approved in the Standing Committee on Thursday. Standing Committee Chairman Hitesh Barot said that since this college was built during the period when Prime Minister Modi was the MLA of Maninagar, it has been decided to associate the medical college with the name of PM Modi.
Earlier, Motera Cricket Stadium was renamed as Narendra Modi Stadium and now Narendra Modi Medical College. This medical college has increased 59 seats for medical studies and the number of seats in Kill College has increased to 170. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 90 thousand sq.m. near Sapteshwar Mahadev in Pirana on the occasion of his birthday on 17th September. 72,000 trees will be planted in the area. A total of 2 lakh 75 trees will be planted in this area.
It is worth mentioning that, this medical college was established in 2009 and initially 15 MBBS seats were functioning in this medical college in the year 2022 a total of 209 MBBS students and 17, MI 3 and MS students have got admission. Doctors trained in this medical college benefit poor patients who come for treatment at LG Hospital. This medical college has been established following the foresight and foresight and tireless efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the aim of avoiding the need for Gujarati students to go abroad for medical studies. AMC has received a loan of Rs.350 crore and contractors have received Rs. 380 crore out of outstanding bills of Rs. 350 crore has been paid.
