Richard Barrington named captain of Scotland's T20 World Cup squad

Edinburgh. Scotland have announced their 15-man squad for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in October. Veteran batsman Richard Barrington has been entrusted to lead the team.

First match against Windies on 17th October

Josh Davey and Broad Wheel, who performed brilliantly in the last World Cup, have also been included in the squad. Matt Cross will be the vice-captain and wicketkeeper. Leg-spinner Chris Greaves, who made his World Cup debut in 2021, has also been retained in the squad. Greaves impressed everyone with his innings of 45 runs in Scotland’s win over Bangladesh. Scotland will open their World Cup campaign against the West Indies at Bellrive Oval in Hobart on 17th October. They will then play against Ireland and Zimbabwe.

Richard Barrington (captain), George Munsey, Michael Lesk, Bradley Wheel, Chris Soule, Chris Greaves, Sufian Sharif, Josh Davey, Matthew Cross, Callum McLeod, Hamja Tahir, Mark Watt, Brendan McMullen, Michael Jones and Craig Wallace.
