Covid-19: Free booster window closes,

NEW DELHI: The Centre’s 75-day window for free booster shots for those aged between 18 and 59 has ended, but less than a fifth of this age group across the country has taken the third shot and in no major state is the proportion even 40%, shows official data as of Saturday morning.
The data also shows that booster shots coverage for the 18-plus population as a whole is under 23% and does not exceed 45% in any major state.

Coverage among the elderly, those 60 years or above of age, is just under 50% but Andhra Pradesh has covered all of the elderly with booster shots and Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat too have achieved over 80% coverage.
Coverage for the 18-59 age group is in single digit percentages in nine states, Kerala and Punjab being even below 4%. Only in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha does the proportion exceed one-third of this age group.
All told, 21. 3 crore doses of the precautionary dose have been administered to the 18+ population. About 92. 2 crore aged 18 or more have received the first shotand 86. 4 crore of them have got the second too.
