Maharashtra Intelligence Receives Input on Threat to CM Eknath Shinde's Life, Security Beefed Up

State Intelligence Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbre confirmed the threat, received on Saturday evening. Shinde already enjoys Z plus security cover, which has been further tightened on account of the threat. Shinde’s private residence in Thane and his official residence ‘Varsha’ in Mumbai have also been put under tight security.

Maharashtra State Intelligence Department (SID) received an input on a possible threat to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s life, following which has security has been beefed up, reported PTI.

State Intelligence Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbre confirmed the threat, received on Saturday evening. “After specific information, we have taken necessary action and have increased the security of the chief minister,” Dumbre told PTI.

Shinde already enjoys Z plus security cover, which has been further tightened on account of the threat. Shinde’s private residence in Thane and his official residence ‘Varsha’ in Mumbai have also been put under tight security.

Meanwhile, several Shiv Sena leaders of the Uddhav Thackeray camp joined the Eknath Shinde faction at his official residence in Mumbai’s Worli, ANI reported on Sunday.

Eknath Shinde became Maharashtra chief minister in June this year after his rebellion with Shiv Sena MLAs led to the collapse of the Uddhav Thackeray-led government.
