Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door spotted testing with Grand Vitara and Mahindra Thar

Maruti has been spotted testing the five-door Jimny quite a few times already. The car was spotted testing last month & now, the car has been spotted at Leh alongside the newly launched Grand Vitara and Mahindra Thar.
The five-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny is expected to be unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo but no official confirmations yet. When launched, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny will compete with Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.

As seen in the images, the vehicle will retain most of the styling elements from the three-door version. The five-door version gets a five twin-spoke alloy wheel design, a large bumper with a honeycomb mesh pattern, fog lamps on both ends, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
Jimny five-door: Interior and Features
Talking about the interior, the cabin layout of the SUV is expected to remain the same but Jimny might get a bigger touchscreen system with connected car tech. The feature list will include Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 360-degree camera, Wireless charging, steering mounted controls and many more.

Jimny five-door: Engine and Transmission
Mechanically, the Maruti Jimny is expected to retain the same 1.5-litre, 4-cyl, NA petrol engine which also powers up the newly launched Grand Vitara and Brezza. This engine produces 100 bhp and 130 Nm of torque.

Globally, Jimny is offered with a 4X4 system which comes with a low-range transfer case as well. In India, we can expect the same 4×4 system to be offered with the 5-door version.
Jimny five-door: Launch, price and Rivals
As mentioned before, we expect the 5-door Jimny to make its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo and launch sometime in April 2023.

We expect Maruti to price the five door Jimny starting from Rs 8 lakh and when launched, the Jimny will take on Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
