Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Economic Survey 2023 in the Parliament ahead of the Union Budget. The Economic Survey says the economic growth is forecast to be 6.5% in fiscal 2024 compared to 7% in the current fiscal. The Economic Survey has pegged India’s baseline GDP growth between 6-6.8% for FY24. Tabling the pre-budget document, the Finance Minister said that the survey found India will remain the fastest-growing major economy, despite a projected lower GDP growth. India’s Chief Economic Advisor also said that the economy’s pandemic recovery is complete.
