AHMEDABAD: The UGVCL office on Jetalpur Bareja Road has been disturbed by smugglers stealing cash worth Rs 1.14 lakh and running away late at night. When the smugglers went to steal, they locked two security guards in the bathroom and later carried out the theft. When two security guards broke the door of the bathroom and came out, the traffickers cleaned their hands and escaped. It may be mentioned that the accused came with a specific intention to steal, so the security guard was locked in the bathroom and carried out the theft.

The thieves stole millions and ran away

Mayurbhai Parikh, who lives in Panchvati Bungalows in Bhopal area, has lodged a robbery complaint against four unknown persons at Narol police station. Mayurbhai Parikh has been working at GEB for the past 21 years. For the last one and a half years, he has been on duty as a Deputy Engineer at GEB in front of Ghanshyam Petrol Pump, Jetalpur Bareja Road, Mayurbhai. The smugglers broke the lock of the vault and stole it

Lalubha Gohil told Mayurbhai, ‘Late night around half past three to four people came and put me and a security guard named Jaideep Parmar in the bathroom. Half an hour later, when Lalubha and Jaideep came out by breaking the bathroom door, the iron mesh door of the GEB office was broken. Both the security guards went to the office and saw that the smugglers had broken the lock of the safe. It was found that the cash amount of Rs 1 lakh 14 thousand has been stolen.

A police convoy reached the spot

Along with this, fans, computers and printers were also damaged. When the entire incident was reported to the police, the police convoy reached the spot.
