The Hindu Mahasabha and the BJP hit back at Jamiat chief after he claimed that Islam is the oldest religion of India. Speaking at the annual session of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Maulana Madani Mahmood said that India belongs to him as much as it belongs to PM Narendra Modi. He added that it is wrong to say that Islam came from outside India. His remarks on the origin of Muslims left the Hindu group fuming. They asked the Islamic Body chief to stop lying about history.
