Ukraine’s hopes of quickly joining the European Union are being rebuffed ahead of the historic meeting in Kyiv. Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said the war-torn nation had set an “ambitious goal” of joining the EU in two years. A BBC report quoted senior officials as saying that Ukraine’s future membership is not in doubt but that no one is willing to spell out an exact timeline.
