A Delhi court came down heavily on police in the 2019 Jamia violence case. The lower court also discharged JNU student Sharjeel Imam, student activists Asif Tanha and Safoora Zargar, and eight other accused named by the police in the Jamia violence case. The court asked the Delhi police to arrest the actual perpetrators and not the dissenters.
