India’s ally Russia has praised New Delhi’s G20 presidency. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who is in New Delhi, said that India and Russia have commonalities in worldview. He further added that both countries share the philosophies of Russian writer Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi. Lavrov made the statement while addressing a gathering at a special G20 pavilion in New Delhi. He also attended the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meet after a bilateral meeting with India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Wednesday.
