Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has demanded more weapons from the West amid Russia’s offensive to capture Bakhmut on the eastern front. Speaking at a joint press conference with his Latvian counterpart Egils Levits in Lviv, Zelensky said that the Ukrainian military is suffering from a deficit of artillery, ammunition, warplanes, and tanks. Zelensky’s fresh demand for more weapons came a day after the U.S. announced another $400 million in military assistance to Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
