26/11 a reminder of dangers of weak, inefficient govt: PM Modi | India News

HYDERABAD/NEW DELHI: Speaking on the anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacksPM Narendra Modi said “we can never forget November 26” and added that the Lashkar-e-Taiba attack in 2008 brought home the danger of a weak government.
Addressing an election rally in Telangana on Sunday, the PM said: “The 26/11 attacks remind us of the damage that can be caused by weak and inefficient governments.By voting for a strongBJP government in 2014, you removed the weak Congress government, and today, terrorism is being wiped out.”
The reference clearly was to the chaotic response to the sea-borne jihadi attack and the UPA coalition’s decision not to retaliate militarily against Pakistan whose spy agency, the Inter-Services Agency, mentored Ajmal Kasab and his accomplices.
Earlier in the day, in his monthly radio address “Mann Ki Baat”, the PM said: “We can never forget November 26. It was on this day that the most heinous terrorist attack took place in the country. Terrorists had shaken Mumbai and the entire country. But it is India’s capability that we recovered from that attack and now we are also crushing terrorism with full courage.”
Coinciding with Constitution Day, the PM criticised Telangana CM and BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for allegedly disrespecting Dr BR Ambedkar by calling for changes to the Constitution. He also accused Congress of disrespecting the architect of the Constitution. “Congress also insulted Babasaheb by defeating him in elections. They did not even confer Bharat Ratna on him. It was BJP which honoured him,” he said.
Modi asserted that BJP was fighting against the corruption and family rule represented by Congress and BRS, labelling them as “Sultan Shahi” and “Nizam Shahi”, respectively. Labelling KCR as “enemy of the poor”, he asked: “Does Telangana need a farmhouse CM who does not come to the secretariat? Do we need a CM who does not meet people?” Describing BRS as a “disease” for Telangana, the PM emphasised that only BJP could provide the solution.
