Obscene Video: Alia Bhatt falls prey to deepfake, obscene video sparks concerns over the use of AI

After Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif and Kajol, Alia Bhatt has now become a victim to deepfake technology. This video is now being circulated widely on social media platforms, sparking concerns over the use of AI.
The video showcases a girl dressed in a blue floral co-ord set with Alia’s face and making obscene gestures to the camera. However, many netizens have been able to identity that the girl in the obscene video is not Alia Bhatt.
A few days ago, a video of influencer Rosie Breen on TikTok as part of the ‘Get Ready With Me’ trend had resurfaced. The deepfake video in question showed Rosie’s face being replaced with that of Kajol and changing clothes on camera. For a split second, the manipulated video featured the face of the original woman.

In Rashmika’s case, the deepfake video showed a woman, dressed in black, entering a lift. Her face was morphed and edited in a way that it resembled the actor.

In Katrina’s case, a digitally altered image of the actress from her recently released film Tiger 3 showed the actress engaging in a fight with a stuntwoman clad in a towel, the edited version showed her wearing a low-cut white top and a matching bottom instead of the towel.

Deepfake videos are synthetic media in which a person in an existing image or video is replaced with someone else’s likeness.
