BHONGIR: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is working to stay in power and become richer while the underprivileged are becoming poorer.
“Big leaders of Telangana are sitting in their mansions and farmhouses and running the government. Telangana’s poor are becoming poorer and the BRS party is getting richer.Whether the BJP or BRS, their policy is to just stay in power and become richer,” the Congress General Secretary said in an election rally at Bhongir.
She further said that when elections come, they (BRS) start poll management and asked voters to taught BJP and BRS that Telangana people are not for sale.
Congress leader alleged that the BJP supports the BRS government in Telangana, while the former supports the latter in the national capital, she said their third friend Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM supports both in the state.
“All these three parties are on one side and the Congress is on the other side,” she said.
Earlier in the day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) government in Telangana led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and guaranteed to give 2 lakh government jobs in 1 year if the Congress comes to power.
Further posing it as another guarantee, Rahul Gandhi said “The future of our youth is secure in the hands of Congress’ Prajala Sarkar – this is my Guarantee!”
All major political parties in the state, including Congress, BJP and BRS, have stepped up their campaigning processes with the last date of campaigning on Tuesday before the state goes to polls on November 30. The counting of the votes will take place on December 3.
In the last Assembly elections in 2018, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), previously known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), won 88 of the 119 seats, hogging 47.4 per cent of the total vote share.
The Congress came in a distant second with just 19 seats, while the BJP drew a blank.
