Rahul unemployed, Congress job calendar a joke: KTR

HYDERABAD: Ahead of the November 30 Telangana assembly electionsBRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday called former Congress president Rahul Gandhi politically unemployed, and challenged him to tell how many government jobs were filled in Karnataka and other Congress-governed states. He also called the job calendar released by Congress a joke.KTR was addressing a media conference here atTelangana Bhavan.
Telangana government had filled 1.60 lakh jobs in the past 10 years and 16,000 vacancies a year on average, while Congress had filled 1,000 jobs a year, the BRS politician said.
KTR alleged that Telangana Congress has a secret understanding with BJP. He said the grand old party has fielded weak candidates in Karimnagar, Goshamahal and Korutla where BJP politicians Bandi Sanjay, T Raja Singh and Dharmapuri Arvind are contesting, respectively. He said the BRS will defeat all the three BJP candidates in the ensuing elections.
“TPCC president A Revanth Reddy is saying only Congress leaders’ houses and offices were being raided by the I-T and ED officials, and BRS has an understanding with BJP. But BRS leaders and their relatives’ houses were raided by the I-T and ED, such as Maheshwaram MLA and minister P Sabita Indra Reddy, a few days ago. Only BRS can take on BJP,” KTR said.
Meanwhile, with the BRS ‘Deeskha Diwas’ on November 29 falling just a day before the assembly polls, the party wants to celebrate it in a grand manner. It was on November 29, 2009, that KCR began his indefinite hunger strike, which finally culminated in the then Congress-led UPA government announcing statehood for Telangana on December 9.
“Self-rule is the only protection for Telangana. KCR’s ‘deeksha’ was a turning point in Telangana movement, and this forced the UPA government to give separate Telangana. The ‘Deeksha Diwas’ has been celebrated for the past 14 years,” KTR said.
