Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned BMC sub-engineer Santosh Mandavkar to record his statement in a money-laundering case it is probing against Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Ravindra Waikar, his wife and others in connection with the construction of a luxury hotel in Jogeshwari in violation of his agreement with the municipal corporation.
Sources said the ED has asked Mandavkar, who is the complainant, to provide documents related to the Jogeshwari land and explain how he found out about the fraud when Waikar sought fresh approval.The ED may call others involved in the case next week. — Vijay V Singh

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned state higher education minister K Ponmudy and Vellore MP Kathir Anand for inquiry in connection with different money-laundering complaints against them. Summons have been issued to Ponmudy to appear on November 30. The ED has also summoned actor Prakash Raj in connection with the money-laundering case registered against Pranav Jewellers for which he was a brand ambassador.

NGT summons GCZMA official in Sernabatim case
The NGT has directed the member secretary of GCZMA to appear before it and show cause for not executing its order to demolish structures at Sernabatim, Colva. Suvarna Bandekar filed an execution application for contempt against GCZMA. The GCZMA had ordered the demolition of structures in March 2022, but the respondents appealed. The NGT and Supreme Court rejected the appeals. The case hinges on determining whether the structures existed before February 19, 1991, to avoid CRZ regulations.
