It is alleged that Charlie Sheen was attacked at his home in Malibu, California, by a neighbor who has now been arrested.

Officers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) responded to “a battery/disturbance call” at Sheen’s residence on Wednesday at around 1 p.m. after they said a 47-year-old woman entered the actor’s home and assaulted him.

After answering a knock at the door, the former Two and a Half Men star, 58, had his shirt ripped by the suspect, who also tried to strangle him, TMZ reported, citing law enforcement sources.

The suspect is then said to have returned home. Paramedics attended the scene but Sheen did not require hospital treatment, the report says.

An LASD spokesperson told Business Insider: “Upon contacting the parties involved, deputies identified Charlie Sheen as a victim of assault.”

“The suspect, Electra Schrock, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, force likely to create great bodily injury,” and “residential burglary,” they added.

Sheen had previous issues with the neighbor involved in the incident, per TMZ, and she had reportedly left trash in front of his door the day before the assault.

Sheen, 58, is one of the highest-paid actors of all time, once raking in around $1.8 million per episode for his role as in the hit comedy Two and a Half Men.

But he was fired from CBS in 2011 after a series of public tirades that saw him denounce the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre, and offer a range of bizarre quotes, including saying he had “tiger blood” and “Adonis DNA.”

In an exclusive interview with People earlier this month, Sheen said he had been sober for almost six years after his well-documented battles with drugs and alcohol.

“I have a very consistent lifestyle now. It’s all about single dad stuff and raising my 14-year-old twin boys, Max and Bob,” he said.
