Here's How Much the 2024 Subaru WRX TR Costs

Subaru is finally ready to share pricing details for its 2024 model lineup, which means we now have an idea of where the all-new WRX TR special edition stacks up against its stiff competition.

The 2024 WRX lineup will carry a base price of $33,855 including destination and delivery fees. The all-new TR model is slated as one of the range-topping options, and that’s reflected in its price. Subaru says the TR will carry an MSRP of $42,775 including destination, which puts it right between a CVT-equipped Limited ($41,685) and the CVT-only GT ($45,335) models.

That sort of cash puts the special edition gravel-slinger very close to another AWD fan-favorite: the GR Corolla. In fact, the TR falls just short of the GR Corolla Circuit’s MSRP of $45,835 including destination. If weather isn’t a concern, Ford will also sell you an S650 Mustang GT for similar money, ringing in at $44,950 including destination.

The WRX TR first arrived back in October at the Subiefest Florida festival. The more focused rally sedan comes equipped with welcomed improvements such as larger Brembo brakes at all four corners, a set of sportier seats sourced from Recaro, and a revised suspension calibration for improved body control. The engineers also reworked the steering system for improved feel and response, which should also help with the car’s on-track behavior. Other desirable hardware, like the brand’s adaptive dampers, remain off limits, however. A moonroof delete, a set of 19-inch wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S007 rubber, and the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology hardware round out the upgrades. It marks the first time Subaru has paired that safety system with the manual gearbox in the WRX. Output remains unchanged at 271 hp and 258 lb-ft. It’s not the most hardcore special edition model we’ve had from Subaru, but it does aim to address some genuine customer desires for the sport compact now that the STI is gone.

The TR trim pushes the WRX into the mix with some serious competitors, but we’ll have to see just how much of an impact those adjustments have. Customers can expect deliveries to begin in early 2024, so we won’t have to wait much longer.
