NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth’ on Monday, a platform that will help the government get views of the youth for dra-wing up national plans as part of the vision document to make India a developed nation by 2047. The PM will also address the vice chancellors of universities, heads of institutes & fa-culty members of over 700 entities in workshops organised at Raj Bhawans across the country, which will symbolise the start of the initiative.
The PM’s vision is to actively involve the youth of the country in formulation of national plans, priorities and goals.In line with this vision, ‘Viksit Bharat @2047 : Voice of Youth’ initiative will provide a platform to the youth of the country to contribute ideas to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. The workshops will be a key step towards initiating the process of engaging youth to share their ideas and suggestions for a developed country by 2047. Viksit Bharat@2047 is the vision to make India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of its independence. The vision encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance, among others.
Niti Aayog CEO B V R Subrahamanyam told reporters on Sunday that the workshop would include vice chancellors and head of institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITs and autonomous colleges. Both public and private institutions would be involved. The Vision India@2047 document, which is being prepared to draw up the strategy for India to emerge as a developed economy, is likely to be released by Narendra Modi in January. India is estimated to become a $30 trillion developed economy by 2047, preliminary results from the Centre’s vision document which is being prepared have shown.
The document will outline the structural changes and reforms needed to reach the objective. It will include government process re-engineering, reforms and cut down on duplication of work by different ministries and departments. It is also expected to have details about the country’s global engagement on trade, investment, technology, capital, research and development entities.
