Ahmedabad: The state examination board on Saturday declared the results of the Sports Aptitude Test (SAT) for the recruitment of Khel Sahayaks that was conducted on November 29. The results showed that 1,785 or 50.42% of the total candidates who took the exam succeeded in it by scoring 50% and above. The remaining 1,755 failed to score the minimum 50%.
Of the total of 4,842 candidates who had applied for SAT, 3,540 had taken the exam while the remaining 1,302 had remained absent.
The state education department intends to hire 5,075 Khel Sahayaks or physical education assistant teachers for primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools. The selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly pay of Rs 21,000. Results showed that only 30 candidates scored in the range of 80-89 from a 100-mark test.

The selection committee for the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna, Arjuna, and Dronacharya awards will be chaired by retired Supreme Court judge Justice AM Khanwilkar. The committee comprises six distinguished sports personalities including former India hockey captain Dhanraj Pillay, Olympic boxer Akhil Kumar, accomplished shooter Shuma Shirur, and eight-time national table tennis champion Kamlesh Mehta from the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI). Other members include former Indian women’s cricket captain Anjum Chopra, accomplished shuttler Trupti Murugunde from the Mission Olympic Cell, and Farman Basha from the Powerlifting Federation. Media representation is provided by Abhishek Tripathi, sports editor of Danik Jagran, while the government officials on the committee include SAI DG Sandeep Pradhan, CEO of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme Pushpendra Garg, and Joint Secretary (MYAS) Prem Kumar Jha.
