Ahmedabad: A land broker from Ghatlodia on Friday filed a complaint at Sola police station alleging that a man who he met a fortnight ago and took to his office, robbed him of Rs 42 lakh at his office on SG Road on December 4.
Harshad Patel, a resident of Vagheshwari Society in Ghatlodia, in his FIR said he, Ketan Shah, Hasmukh Vora and Suresh Nayi run a land broking business.
On November 26, Patel along with Shah, Vora and Nayi were at a tea-stall on SG Road. A man came up to them and introduced himself as Imran Dela from Rajkot. He told them he was in the same business and they exchanged numbers.
Recently, Patel and his friends decided to buy a certain bungalow in Ambawadi which they intended to sell for a profit. Patel said that they gathered Rs 42 lakh to buy the bungalow and kept it in their office in the Business Hub commercial centre in Gota.
Dela knew about this and called Patel on December 4 saying he would come to his office with a potential buyer. Dela came to the office later that evening and spoke to Patel and Vora about a buyer. After a while, Vora left and Imran also went out.
A couple of minutes later, Dela returned and threatened Patel. He demanded the Rs 42 lakh kept in a bag under Patel’s table. Patel refused to give him the money but Dela kicked him, snatched the bag and fled.
