Mumbai: A 90mm gas pipeline of MGL was damaged on Friday at Dahisar East during drainage excavation works by a BMC-appointed contractor. Teams from BMC, MGL and fire brigade were mobilised. Supply to Dahisar East, Shakti Nagar, Anand Nagar, Avdoot Nagar and CSM roads 3 & 5 was yet to be restored till the time of going to press. tnn

BMC’s Rs 16,621-crore Versova-Dahisar Coastal Road project receives six bidders: L&T, J Kumar Infraprojects, NCC Ltd, Megha Engineering, APCO Infraprojects, and Afcons Infrastructure Ltd. Bids opened on December 4, to be finalized later. Two of the bidders, NCC and Megha, are also working on the BMC’s mega road concreting project. The project has faced criticism from opposition parties for overspending. The Coastal Road project is expected to be a game changer for Mumbai, reducing traffic load on the Western Express Highway.
